New York Times Best-Selling Author Kevin Cowherd returns to Harford County this spring to discuss his new book, When the Crowd Didn't Roar: How Baseball's Strangest Game Ever Gave a Broken City Hope.
While Baltimore was reeling from the riots sparked by the death of Freddie Gray, the Orioles hosted the Chicago White Sox in what has became the only Major League Baseball game ever played without fans. Mr. Cowherd's book chronicles this unsettling contest, as well as the tragic events that led up to it, and the therapeutic effect this game had on a troubled city.
Following the author's remarks and Q&A session, the evening will conclude with a book signing and photo opportunity. Books must be purchased in advance and will not be sold that evening. Registration is suggested.
